Work experience offers new and exciting opportunities for young people looking to find work in the sector. They offer the chance to:
- Provide real and meaningful work experiences for young people
- Diversify the workforce
- Tap into alternative pools of talent
- Improve confidence, knowledge, skill and ability
- Support a young person in their search for work
This is an 8 week programme of work experience designed to support young people to move into creative and cultural industry. Young people can work up to 30 hours a week as part of this scheme.
Working closely with industry, we help to identify and shape opportunities for young people who are currently looking for work. In partnership with the Job Centre Plus, we identify and recruit the right young person for the placement.

Who can be a trainee?
Young people who live in the Host Boroughs (Newham, Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets or Hackney) who are currently receiving Job Seekers Allowance can apply to become trainees. During your time as a trainee, you will continue to receive your benefit and your travel to and from your placement will be paid by the Job Centre. If you are passionate about beginning a career in the creative and cultural sector, this could be just the start you need.
How can an employer take part?
Employers simply need to get in touch! We will work with you to shape a placement that will be worthwhile for both you and your trainee. We will support you to write a job description, interview and recruit the right young person for the job.
Acting as a single point of contact, we liaise with the Job Centre ensuring that young people applying for traineeships will go through the same recruitment process as they might if it were a paid job. This means that you can be sure of finding the right trainee for you.
