Who can take part in work experience?

Students in Year 10 and above living in the host boroughs (Waltham Forest, Newham, Greenwich, Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham or Hackney) are eligible to apply. We run work experience programmes during the prescribed dates for each borough, but you can also opt to do work experience outside of term time.

Some organisations do their most exciting work outside of school hours, so some placements may involve evening and weekend work.

How can an employer take part?

Employers simply need to get in touch! We will work with you to shape a placement that will be worthwhile for both you and your student, support you to complete the paperwork, liaise with educational bodies and provide you with a point of contact throughout the experience.

We will advertise your opportunities and will interview young people that apply against your criteria to ensure that everybody gets the best out of the placement. We know how difficult it can be to involve young people in your business, and we hope to remove some of the obstacles by supporting you through the administrative process.
