Creativity Works: Visual Storytelling is an intensive 5 week programme, co-designed with Magnum Photos, for the next generation of image makers.

This intensive course seeks to equip London’s young creative talent with the connections, skills and knowledge to progress in their careers. Over a five-week intensive course participants will investigate the power of digital imagery with Magnum Photos, global leaders in photography. Through a range of practical workshops and activities, group crits, seminars and guest talks, fifteen young Londoners will develop their own visual language and the skills required to understand photography’s ever-changing marketplace.

Working in teams trainees will develop a body of work for exhibition, responding to a live brief developed with It’s Nice That. Guided along the way, trainees will gain insight from creative professionals and London-based collectives.

The course will focus on building great stories through mobile technology and digital editing, rather than getting stuck on technical details, we’ll be more interested in developing concepts and creative direction. Guided by experts at Magnum Photos, trainees will learn skills throughout the process; from research, shooting and editing, to production, exhibition installation and promotion.

Participants will get individual support creating a professional profile, polishing up a portfolio and CV plus advice on how to find paid work in the creative industries.

The programme builds a insight into content creation which could lead to entry level roles photojournalism, image-editing, archiving and curation applicable to arts & culture, media, advertising and beyond.
