Flipside Junior Product Designer

We are looking for a Junior Product Designer to join our team who will support across a range of products and accounts.

Product designers help solve problems by thinking strategically about people's needs and creating digital products and services that address those needs. This could be anything from an app or a website, to a physical product that uses digital technology. As a designer, you are someone who cares about how and why successful, innovative products are made and enjoy solving real problems for real people.

We are looking for a Junior Product Designer to support our team by working on client briefs, experience testing with the public, launching products into the market.

The training will take place during the first 10-12 weeks of your paid job role. By bringing the Flipside training into this job role you will have the opportunity to develop the mindsets and hard and soft skills that will help you succeed in your role as a digital product designer.

The training will have three complementary learning strands, covering:

Digital Product Design Process - focusing on understanding and developing the range of technical skills required to research, design, prototype, test and pitch a digital product in response to a brief

Personal Effectiveness - focusing on developing the mindsets and soft skills required to take responsibility for learning and working effectively with others.

Career Development - focusing on developing employability skills

All junior roles will be immersed with this industry learning and include working collaboratively in teams on a live client brief, meeting and networking with digital agencies, and learning by doing across a product cycle.

We are looking for a Junior Product Designer to support our team by working on client briefs, experience testing with the public, launching products into the market.

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

We are not looking for a specific set of qualifications, rather you will demonstrate creative problem-solving skills, be curious and love to learn, have the drive and commitment to gain a career in digital design. You will have an interest and basic knowledge of design softwares (InVision) editing tools (Adobe), familiarity with design techniques (prototyping). You will have strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, project manage including time management and scheduling, the ability to work effectively within teams, and hold a creative mindset.

This programme is being delivered as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme.

To be eligible to apply you must be aged 18 – 24 and claiming universal credit.
