Awards Assistant

The awards assistant will support the operations manager in all aspects of the British Arrows annual awards programme and event. The British Arrows is the oldest and most prestigious advertising awards body in the UK, celebrating all that is great in moving image creativity and craft.

We are a small team, this is a unique opportunity to work with the UK’s greatest creative and production organisations. The Board is made up of senior agency and production executives and entries to the awards come from almost every UK agency, post production company or sound company as well as some from abroad. This person will have the opportunity to be exposed to some of the most creative and talented individuals in the advertising industry.

Initially the role will be homeworking or working together at pre-agreed locations (all within London and the M25). When the event planning stage is in full swing the role will likely be based in central London. Travel will be paid when outside of London. Currently the team meet once a week in person this is likely to increase to 3 days a week later in the year.

Key activities include:

  • Review awards entries; quality control checks on video entries;
  • Answer entrant queries by phone or email
  • Manage client data
  • Update British Arrows CRM; collating and checking entry credentials
  • Assisting with social media content creation and posting;
  • Assist with updating and maintenance of the website and awards software (powered by BAFTA)
  • Supporting the Operations director and head of partnerships with client follow-ups
  • On hand to assist during the live judging days
  • Checking award winners and co-ordinating with award manufacture and ultimately ensuring all awards are safely delivered to winners on the night or thereafter
  • Assisting with creation of the Awards night Book of the night
  • Attending the awards event and supporting the team on the ground.

You must be aged 16-24 years old, and unemployed and claiming Universal Credit.

Previous experience in an office would be helpful but not essential, role would suit those interested in a career in the advertising industry who is open-minded and is uncertain which part of the industry they would like to work in.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Good computer skills essential (outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong admin and written English skills essential
  • Confident enough to answer calls remotely
  • Knowledge of Indesign would be helpful but not essential
  • Knowledge of video file formats would be helpful but not essential
  • A great personality, positive attitude, sense of humour and sunny disposition will go a long way
  • Ability to work under pressure during busy periods (eg when entry closes; when ticket sales are being finalised)
  • The ability to work independently is important as the role will be partly remote but must not be afraid to ask for help
