Want to start a career in the creative and cultural sector or interested in working in museums, galleries, and theatres? Looking for an entry level role?
Join us for two weeks of workshops led by some of London’s leading creative and cultural organisations, as well as 1-2-1 support and guidance from industry leaders and the opportunity connect with employers with live vacancies.
You will also get first-hand information about applying for positions, find out how to create a strong professional profile to impress future employers and progress onto additional industry-led specific training throughout the summer.
Partners involved include but aren’t limited to: Whitechapel Gallery, Spitalfields Music, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Tate, The Yard Theatre and the V&A Museum.
At Creative and Cultural Opportunity week, you'll:
Learn about the sector and the opportunities available in East London and beyond
Meet local cultural institutions in East London and make connections in the sector
Get an opportunity to connect with a number of employers and their live opportunities at an Employer Meet-up
Get support applying for opportunities and creating a professional portfolio from A New Direction
Have travel & food expenses covered throughout the programme
Progress onto an additional 6-days of industry training in digital content creation following the programme
Who is Creative Opportunity Programme for?
Residents of these East London boroughs: Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Waltham Forest.
18-30 year olds
Ambitious to work in the arts and creative industries.
Self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset
Available full-time between 16 - 27th July
Unemployed or under-employed (not currently working in the cultural sector)
