The role

The role will involve responsibility for overseeing the Foundation programme of events. You will need to have previous experience of managing events and of working within the arts sector. You will be managing staff, including freelancers and will have excellent communication skills. The role includes evaluating the programme and there will be the opportunity to develop content so we are looking for someone with a passion for art and art education. The appointment is subject to a DBS check as part of your role will include working with children and young people.


  • Managing day to day running of the programme at Regents Park Road (to include ensuring events are organised, liaising with stakeholders, artists and speakers, working with the Foundation Assistant to ensure spaces are set up, arranging documentation, working with UTILE (design and web team) to advertise, maintaining guest lists, arranging catering)
  • Managing subscription email list
  • Managing the intern to ensure that programme events are advertised through social media platforms and other tasks as appropriate
  • Working with UTILE to ensure that event content is captured on the website
  • Working with the Foundation Assistant to provide content for the regular blog
  • Working with the Creative Director to establish a programme (to include managing the programme logistics, but also assisting in generating content for some strands and working with the Creative Director to develop the strategic direction of the programme)
  • Working with the Creative Director, and other relevant parties, to maintain the gallery programme
  • Evaluate events and programme producing regular reports
  • Other relevant tasks as the programme evolves
  • The role requires flexibility on days worked and will include some Saturdays

Person specification

  • At least 2 years’ experience working within the arts sector
  • Degree, or equivalent
  • Experience in managing events
  • Experience in managing staff to ensure the smooth running of events, including working with freelancers
  • Ability to devise and employ innovative and appropriate evaluation strategies
  • An understanding of the sector (Art and Art Education), including a knowledge of current issues and challenges
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • Ability to manage a budget efficiently
  • A keen interest in and passion for the visual arts and education
  • The appointment is subject to a DBS check as part of your role will include working with children and young people
