Create Jobs training programmes are designed with leading creative employers

Our programmes are ambitious, collaborative and industry-led, supporting young talent to succeed in the creative workforce. We provide advice to help Londoners get work-ready and develop goals, ideas and aspirations; we build up a wide and relevant knowledge of the creative industries; develop critical thinking, creative, technical and entrepreneurship skills; and connect networks of peers, mentors and contacts.

Creativity Works: Transforming Spaces

The set and 3D design course supporting London’s next generation of makers


When? 25 June to 18 July

What? Full-time intensive training programme with work placement and ongoing sessions

Who will we be recruiting for? Young Londoners interested in set and 3D design


Creativity Works: Transforming Spaces is a new programme for 15 talented young Londoners kick-starting a career in set design and build for festivals, theatre and events.

Over an initial intensive 4 weeks, participants will take part in an industry-focused course covering creative concept to computer aided design, research to user testing and branding to fabrication. Paired with artist mentors, trainees will also complete a work placement preparing and building structures for an interactive event at The Barbican’s Walthamstow Garden Party. Trainees will meet set designers, technicians, artists and event producers, developing skills in creative thinking, responding to live briefs, design thinking, project management, presentation and engaging audiences, as well as practical construction and making.

New Museum School

A work-based, nationally accredited training programme supporting young Londoners to shape the future of the arts and heritage sectors.

When? October 2018 to October 2019

What? Full-time year-long traineeships based in leading museums and galleries.

Who will we be recruiting for? Young Londoners interested in working in arts and heritage.

The New Museum School is a talent development programme that will focus on skills gaps within the heritage sector, creating new paid traineeships across a consortium of national, local and community arts galleries and museums. The programme will support learning and skills development in three areas; digital, conservation and traditional craft.

STEP

Paid internships for young talent kick-starting careers in arts and culture

When? October 2018 to October 2019

What? Full-time year-long traineeships based in leading arts and cultural organisations.

Who will we be recruiting for? Young Londoners interested in working in the arts.

STEP is a shared training programme within some of London’s leading arts and cultural organisations including Bow Arts, Sadler’s Wells, Rosetta Arts Centre and UAL’s London College of Fashion. Interns rotate roles to gain experience in diverse areas of the industry including; production and events, programming and curation, community & youth engagement, and digital content production.

Recruitment for this programme will begin in summer 2018.


Digital Pipeline LDN

The digital creative night school addressing London’s digital skills gap

When? Autumn 2018

What? 14-week part-time night school

Who will we be recruiting for? 20 young Londoners interested in digital creative design

Digital Pipeline LDN gives young Londoners an opportunity to develop their skills with pioneering training agencies, General Assembly and D&AD. The programme combines the best in technical training, digital industry immersion and personal development, and is offered for free to fresh, driven talent.

This is the second round of the programme. This version will feature more on Digital Creative with half the course joining forces with D&AD’s New Blood Shift programme. The other half will focus and develop front-end web development skills, with the whole cohort working collaboratively on design briefs.

Applications open in May 2018 and we will be recruiting for 20 young Londoners.

The agency-led training programme that launches diverse talent into design careers.

When? Autumn 2018
What? 13-week paid full-time training course
Who will we be recruiting for? 12 young Londoners interested in digital product design

Create Jobs and some of London’s leading creative digital agencies have come together to co-create a world-class Digital Product Design programme that connects young east Londoners with businesses, better preparing them both for the future of recruitment and creative work. Developed with leading design agencies Beyond, Made by Many, Sennep, and ustwo, and Ada, the National College for Digital Skills.

Creativity Works: Advertising


When? Autumn 2018

What? 8 to 12 weeks intensive training programme

Who will we be recruiting for? 20 young Londoners interested in advertising

An industry immersion training pathway for young Londoners interested in breaking in to advertising industry. Our Creativity Works courses are the ultimate in creative employment courses. Participants are given access to mentoring, accreditation in arts project management, work experience, live briefs and masterclasses.This course is designed and developed with some of London’s leading advertising agencies, with participants working in small teams to deliver creative solutions to live client briefs.

This is part of the Mayor’s Fund for London’s Creativity Works programme.

Recruitment for this programme will begin in autumn 2018.
